The Sun Pyramid can be seen in the upper left hand corner of the picture.  At the top of the structure is the back of the Butterfly Temple (you can see the merlons sticking up).  The Palace of the Jaguar and the Temple of the Feathered Conches are also located in the same area.

In the background are the shops where you can buy many interesting things.

Courtyard of the Butterfly Temple, also known as the Palace of Quetzalcoatl

This building covers the earlier structures of the Temple of the Feathered Conches and Palace of the Jaguars

Column in the Butterfly Temple

The Butterfly Temple is located near the Sun Pyramid on the west side of the Avenue of the Dead.  The figure on the column is Quetzalpapalotl, the plumed or feathered butterfly.  Water symbols alternate with fire symbols.

A Merlon on top of the Butterfly Temple

The carving shows the year symbol and can be seen from the inner court yard.

Palace of the Jaguars

Jaguar Complex

These were possibly walls to rooms.  There are stairways nearby where the ramps may represent the body of a snake.

Mural of Jaguar

The Jaguar blows on a feathered conch, which may be part of a rain making ceremony.

Pilaster with Feathered Conches

The Temple of the Feathered Conches is from an earlier cultural era than the Palace of Quetzal-Papolotl, and was then covered with the new structure.
